The breaks on my 97 Ford F150 are hard to push down. Recently i just drained the brake fluid and the breaks themselves look decent (they were changed last year). I have to depress the break all the way down now and that's not a good thing. I also have plenty of break fluid in as well.
What could be my problem with my brakes?
If you drained the fluid you now have air in the system, need to bleed the wheels. If brakes are hard, booster maybe gone, if brakes are too low, rear brake shoes need to be adjusted
What could be my problem with my brakes?
hard to push down is brake booster...all the way down would be no pads or maybe master is bad or air.. brake pads beeing change last yr doesnt mean they are not wore out.... look at brake pads the pads should be thicker than the medal pads they are glue too.. like more than 1/4 thick they start about a half inch
The truck has power brakes. Is the booster working?
Is there a vacuum line hooked to it?? the booster has a diaphram in it,,is it torn?
