Either try to use an easy-out to remove the broken bolt, or drill out the broken bolt, rethread the opening and you will have to use a larger bolt.
First, I would try to take a chisel and make an indent into the bolt and see if I can work it around a little to loosen.

Next see if you can find a reverse drill bit. (Any drill bit will work, but with the reverse bit it will try to loosen instead of tighten as you drill through it.) Then if you get lucky, as you're drilling through the center of the bolt it will spin right out. If not then it's time for an EZ out. You can get them at a home improvement store. They look like a reverse thread screw with a squared off head on the other end. You screw it in to the hole you drilled into the bolt and as you turn in a counterclockwise motion the bit digs deeper into the hole and sooner or later the bolt will come out.

If all this fails, then as a last resort, get a heli-coil. This is another drill bit and special insert that will repair the threads to original diameter. The instructions are included. Good luck
If any of the bolt is sticking out try using vise grips and turning the bolt out, if the bolt isnt sticking out then drill it and use a bolt extractor, like an easy out. If you put your cover back on and 1 bolt is missing from the differential it shouldnt leak.
